Hi Tim - Yes, most quilts/comforters will wash properly in our washers as long as the quilt/comforter fits below the balance ring of the washer tub and is not stuffed in the tub tightly. The thickness, density, and overall size of the comforter should be taken in account when deciding whether to wash the comforter in a washer. Thanks for considering GE! Sue

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I washed my king size quilt in it (and it's very thick). Although it seemed like a tight fit, the machine washed it very well. I have also put two queen size sheet sets in together along with a twin set, and all came out clean. Same with loads of towels and loads of jeans. This machine washes better than my old Maytag (and the Kenmore I had before that). Two of my adult children have "borrowed" it to do their laundry. The only complaint was from my daughter who is short. She had trouble reaching to the bottom to get the clothes out to place in the dryer!
