Hi there, we appreciate you taking a second to contact us. The agitator could come off the base if not seated properly. It can easily be snapped back in place by lining up the grooves in the agitator auger with the agitator base. Next, turn it counter-clockwise until it locks into place. If the washer has a fabric softener cup at the top of the agitator that has come off, line up the grooves on the edges of the cup with the grooves at the top of the agitator. Then, push down on the cup firmly to snap into place. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this helps and we're wishing you the best. - Guy@GEA
