We would recommend that you use a High Efficiency (HE) detergent so that less sudsing will happen. For powdered detergent, after loading clothes, put the detergent in the wash basket next to the agitator. Dissolve the detergent in hot water before pouring it into the wash basket. Note: Pour detergent into your washer according to the instructions on the package and information from the Owner's Manual. Some granular detergents may be difficult to dissolve because of variations in content. - For liquid detergent, pour measured amount directly into the wash basket. For current models, it is recommended to add the detergent to the top of the load after adding clothes. You can also use part of the measured amount to treat stains before washing. - Note: Always check the manufacturer's recommended amount and directions. HE detergent is recommended for use in all our washers. If using a non-HE detergent or any other type of detergent (including all-natural products), make sure that it is made of non-flammable ingredients. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael
