• Hi - The inner oven glass is coated with a heat barrier to reflect the heat back into the oven to prevent heat loss and keep the outer door cool while baking. Potentially hot surfaces include the heating elements, oven interior, burners, grates, oven vent opening, surfaces near the opening, and crevices around the oven door. Thanks for viewing GE! Sue

• The door does get hot! The rest of the oven, not so much. If you can return it, do so!
