Does the bottom drawer open and allow for storage? null

Yes, it does. It's a bit awkward to open (need two hands for it to work well, most of the time) and it's a bit flimsy, but yes, it opens and there is space for storage.

The bottom drawer does open and I do use it for storage, but it takes two hands to open it, as some of my pans are cast iron. It would be better if it would be easier to slidelois open and close.
