Hello Rob - We appreciate the interest in this excellent washer. The highest temperature the unit will reach is approximately 145 degrees F on the Sanitization cycle. The sanitization metric is based on the amount of time above a minimum organism killing temperature – in this case 131F (55C). The GFW850 spends >30 minutes above the minimum 131F temperature, surpassing the criteria. Please let us know if you have any more questions. - John@GEA
