Hi there, thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in this electric range! We truly appreciate your patience and are happy to offer you guidance in canning. This range's radiant ceramic glass cooktop will be able to handle the weight of a full-7 quart canner. Because canning generates large amounts of steam and heat, you should always use extreme caution, and we recommend the following tips! Be sure the canner is centered over the surface unit. Flat bottomed canners must be used. Normally, pots that extend beyond one inch of the cooking element's trim ring are not recommended; however, when canning with a water-bath, pressure canner, or pressure cooker, larger diameter pots may be used.
