• No, the Steam Clean cycle does not require plumbing. The Steam Clean cycle is designed to sufficiently heat the water added to the oven bottom at the beginning of the steam clean cycle, so that it increases in temperature and can then condense onto food soils, softening them and making them easier to remove. -Don@GEAppliances
