Hi Stig - Thanks for your interest in GE! The steam clean mode is not designed for sterilizing items such as baby bottles/nipples. There is not a temperature associated with the Steam Clean. It gets hot enough to start to generate steam. The Steam cycle helps hydrate food soils so that they are easier to wipe away. Keep in touch! Sue
