Self clean, steam clean is totally worthless. We replaced a Kitchen Aid with a new Kitchen Aid model selected by the remodeling decorator with no input from me. I made a prime rib roast that splattered fine droplets everywhere. THEN I read the manual on how to do the self clean and figured out this steam clean thing sounded sketchy. It is a disaster. It does not remove or loosen anything up and you are on your knees with oven cleaner cleaning the oven like 1958. I would not recommend any stove model that uses steam clean for the self clean process. They should stop making stoves with that type of "cleaning." I cook a lot! It is my thing so you can trust my opinion.

The self-clean oven is cleaned by heat, at temperatures above normal cooking temperatures. During the cleaning cycle the oven is heated to about 880 degrees Fahrenheit (471° C.). At this temperature, food soils inside the oven decomposes. The cycle takes from one and a half hours to three hours, depending upon the amount of soil. Avoid the time and door locking required for conventional self-clean ovens. Steam Clean allows for quick cleaning of minor food spills at temperatures lower than the standard self-clean feature. Simply pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a cool oven. Close the door and select Steam Clean. The cycle lasts about 30 minutes, and loosens and softens the grime in the oven. Once the cycle is complete, wipe out the moisture and food soils with a soft cloth. The cooktop does not overlap the countertop on the sides. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no overhang on this unit. They sell a trim kit separately that will lay over the countertop edges.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Haven't used either the self-clean or the steam clean features as yet. But the stove doesn't sit flush on nor hang over the countertop at all. In fact, if u r replacing an existing slide in stove, there may be a large gap between the stove and countertop as in my case. Not all stoves r exactly 30" or 36" in width. Most r slightly smaller. Thus unless u r having cabinets built specifically for this actual stove to fit seamlessly around it, there could be gaps. And Best Buy doesn't sell "gap fillers/erasers" to eliminate this unsightly problem (food and liquids will find their way down the gaps.) Not happy about this at all.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Self cleaning is self cleaning. There is always something leftover to wipe out....that is with ANY self-cleaning. We are not aware of the steam clean option.
