The display is recessed, and being subject to the law of gravity, will indeed collect any spills that fall on it. It's very easy to clean, though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was worried about the same thing. But the display is very nicely engineered into the stove body, no gaps. I could not even insert a piece of paper into the "gaps" around the display.

You can also lock the controls when cleaning. It’s a good idea to wipe the control panel after each use. Clean with mild soap and water or vinegar and water, rinse with clean water and polish dry with a soft cloth.
