Yes. It's pulling the warm air out of the room and replacing it with chilled air. That's why the exhaust vent feels warm.

Portable air conditioners exhaust hot air produced by the cooling (heat exchange) process through the exhaust hose. This is why it is necessary to use the exhaust hose and why it must go outside. It is normal for the exhaust vent hose to be warm, or even hot, during operation. If the hose seems warmer now than it has in the past, check the air intake louvers to make sure they are not being obstructed. We recommend leaving 1 ft of clearance all the way around the unit. Check that there is nothing blocking the hose or the discharge area of the window kit and clean the filter.
