I used a piece of plastic and some insulation and taped it to the end of the the window portion with some clear insulation tape. Any rigid plastic will do, I used a piece of a lettuce box lid and styrofoam insulation.

We can only recommend that the window panel for this model be installed in a window with a maximum width of 46" as stated in the Installation Instructions. Any variation of these instructions that requires modification to the window, such as filling in a gap, is up to the homeowner. However, here are some options that may be considered to fill a gap, though they're not tested: 1. Try a corrugated plastic sheet that is weatherproof, water-resistant and can be easily trimmed using common household tools. These sheets are found in most all hardware stores. 2. Order an additional center panel (WJ01X26223) and try cutting to fit then slide it onto the existing extension panel. We hope this is helpful for you! Best wishes. -Michael@GEA
