A:AnswerHello Jim - Thank you for the excellent question on this superb range. We are always happy to share about our appliances.
The steam clean function does not require a water connection. This feature is used by pouring a cup of water into the bottom of the oven and letting the heat do the rest.
Please let us know if you have any more questions. - JB
A:AnswerHi there, thanks so much for your question! On double oven ranges, the lower oven can be self-cleaned and steam cleaned. We would recommend that you follow the directions outlined in your Owner's manual. Both ovens cannot be self-cleaned at the same time. On some models, the surface burners must be turned off prior to the self-clean start time. When self-cleaning on some models, the cooktop burners and the other oven will not start. We hope that this is helpful! All the best. -Michael
A:AnswerHi there - Great question! Yes, this range has self-clean ovens with steam clean option. Thanks so much for considering GE Appliances! -Mikayla
A:AnswerHello Sam, that's a great question. We are happy to answer this for you! To clean the stainless steel surface, use warm sudsy water or a stainless steel cleaner or polish. To avoid scratching the surface, we recommend to not use a steel wool pad and always wipe the surface in the direction of the grain. More tips on cleaning stainless steel surfaces as well as some of our awesome cleaning products can be found here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16574 . Additional instructions for cleaning your range can be found on pages 20-26 of your owner's manual: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-85242-2.PDF . We hope that this helps. All the best! -Eliza

A:AnswerThere is a piece for the back that comes with it that at least in my application is touching the wall behind it. It does have holes in it for venting. Doesn't come with anything for the sides.
A:AnswerHi Tommy - Thanks for reaching out to us regarding your GE Profile Range. We are sorry to hear the oven will not work after a self -clean cycle and displays "door locked". This is frustrating, we know. With electronic ranges, there is a small chance that turning the home circuit breaker off for a few minutes and turning it back on can reset the electronics and display. Also,
we suggest viewing the following link- RANGE OR WALL OVEN - “LOC DOOR” FLASHES IN THE DISPLAY: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16196 - If you need further assistance, a qualified GE service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis. A:AnswerHi BigD67- The gas broil burner is in the lower oven. The low power electric element in the upper oven does not get hot enough to broil. Rather, it is there to provide the right amount of top heat for browning during bake. The lower oven offers Broil Hi/Lo. The Broil High (550F) mode uses intense heat from the upper element or burner to sear foods. The Broil Lo (450F) uses less intense heat from the upper element or burner to cook food thoroughly while
also browning the surface. Explore our Black Stainless Appliances at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/black-stainless-steel-appliances.htm - Thanks for considering GE! Keep in touch! Sue
