Hey slim, we'll be happy to help. Yes, the door on this dryer swings open and the depth of the dryer with the door open is 52". Also, the back of the dryer is not flat. This is illustrated on page 2 of the installation instructions here: https://files.bbystatic.com/%2FauF%2FWooQDyZxRx%2F6b6gsw%3D%3D/Installation%2BInstructions%2BGTD33EASKWW.pdf - With that being said, this unit requires 1" of clearance in the rear so it will not fit in your space.
