“Does the dryer need a water line for steam? If so is a splitter for the adjacent washer water line included?”

Yes the dryer needs a water connection to the cold water line. We replaced an existing steam dryer so all of the connections were already in place. I believe everything you need to make the connections are included with the dryer.
