• Hello. This is RICHARDatGEA. The GFD45ESSKWW does require venting. This dryer cannot function without venting. It may be listed as optional since the venting is not included. Thanks for the question.

• No, the dryer does require venting but it has 4 ways to vent for easy access and installation.
