“on which side of the appliance (left or right rear) is the electrical cord?”

This question is for: GE - Artistry Series 1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave - White

Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. The electrical cord on over the range microwaves is located on the top of the microwave, in the right rear corner if you are facing the microwave. I hope this helps! Thank you for choosing GE!

Right rear. On the top, of course. I had to drill a new hole in my cabinet to accommodate.

Power chord comes out the top right corner of the unit.

If you are standing in front of the microwave the cord is on the left side.
