“I have a ceiling fan that is controlled by 2 light switches. One for the Lamp and the other for the ceiling fan. Do I need to have a special switch or can I just us the lightbulbs and keep the light switch on and then can control the ceiling fan manually?”

You can remotely control the bulbs, as long as you leave the light switch on all the time. (No special switch needed). Use the app to operate the bulbs, or you can use voice control, if you've linked your account with Alexa or Google Home.

You have to have the switch turned on for the smart bulbs to work or conrolled with your smart home app or Alexa. The switch for the fan can be turned off. If you had the bulb and fan on the same switch, you will have to have the switch on, and use the pull cord to control the fan.
