*** UPDATE *** This is what the install looks like using the trim kit for the GE JE1860SB and the LG LMC2075ST microwave. Overall the fit is good. The one slight imperfection is that the LG microwave sticks out about 1/2" farther that the GE unit did, and hence is no longer perfectly flush. This could perhaps be remedied if was willing to modify the trim kit but this solution was good enough for me. As mentioned in a previous post, I did have to shim the left side (between the microwave and the trim kit stand) about 1/4".

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a question I am now asking since I also owned a JE1860SB which recently died. I don't doubt that GE wants to sell you a new trim kit at $150+ dollars and will change the physical design of new models (for whatever reason) to force one's hand. However, I am a bit of a "do it yourselfer" and wanted to see if I could make the old one work. One microwave out there which is a close fit, though not perfect, is the LG -LMC2075ST. The front frame fits perfectly but the stand that goes underneath needs a little adjustment. Particularly, you will have to shim the left side about 1/8 to 1/4" since the leg holes are off just a bit. However, the screw holes that lock the underside of the microwave to the stand appear to be perfectly located. The screws that lock the BACK of the microwave to the stand appear to be off by about 1/4" and so you will either have to skip connecting those or use a Dremel or drill to modify those openings. I am planning to leave those and not use them as the underneath screws should be enough to keep the oven in place. Another bonus, is that the LG is about half the price of the GE Profile replacement however you will have to make your own assessment about the quality comparison. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also purchased the LG LMC2075ST to replace my GE JE1860. The other posts are correct... EXCELLENT FIT into the GE trim kit. The side vent duct pulls off the GE (it’s just taped on) and works on the LG. The mounting base is also usable—screw holes line up, feet are in the same place, etc. Yes, you’ll need to shim the left side—I simply used garden hose washers, they were the perfect thickness. Yes, it sticks out a little, but it really looks fine. However, itis easily fixed by flattening the front lip, move it back 1/4 inch, and now put the securing screws down into the cabinet instead of from the front. Or not, it really isn’t that big of a deal. However, saving $250 on a new trim kit is. So, forget about finding a GE model that will fit... garbage units anyway. Thrilled with the LG.

Glad to see that I am not the only challenged one out there --> No Mr. Fix-it here :( Old Micro: JE1860SB001 New Micro Trim Kit Purchased by Me: Best Buy sku: 9404127/ Model: JX827SFSS =>>> Too small! This Trim kit leaves approx. 2.5 " of space ABOVE the microwave I purshased. PEM31 stainless steal model. Much smaller than original. Returning the JX827SFSS for a JX830SFSS, recommended by GE. I called my home warrantee company to get the exact Model and Serial Number of the old unit. This is what I recommend to EVERYONE - Use the EXACT Model and Serial Number of your old JE1860SB001 unit to match what you need for NEW microwave model and trim kit, PRIOR to purchasing the replacement. I started my process back in Sept 2018, and I am still dealing with this...job too small for the Pros for Hire :( I will let you know how it all works out for me in two weeks after I get the JX830SFSS trim kit installed. I should have bought a BIGGER 2.2 microwave for my hole!

Got it at Best Buy, installed it without an issue including the original trim kit from GE. The only item I had to adjust for was to put a leveling tape under the left hand side of the unit (between unit and the GE kit support frame) as well as at the left front. I used a 4mm insulation tape. You could use any spacers or similar.

Instead of purchasing the LG, I replaced with the G E JE 1860sb, it was a perfect fit for the trim kit and installation took less than 20 minutes. The unit is $100.00 more than the LG however the GE has a larger capacity, and more features. No shimming needed.

Please try again later.I want to thank the people who suggested reusing the existing GE trim with the LG microwave; the photos could have been from our kitchen :-) I was mystified about needing to shim only the left side until we got the unit. How many washers have you guys been using and is it only in the front or the front and the back? Also, I was able to mount the screws in the rear of the microwave in addition to the ones on the bottom.
