- Answer Hi Bea- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We are happy to provide assistance. While the microwave is assembled for outdoor exhaust, it can be converted to recirculating (indoor) venting. The instructions are included with the microwave. All of our over-the-range microwave ovens are designed for adaptation to the following three types of ventilation: *Outside exhaust (horizontal), *Outside exhaust (vertical), *Recirculating (non-vented). - Answer Models JVM7195SKSS and PVM9005SJSS are both approximately 30"W, over-the-range microwaves; all of our 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Any of our current 30" over-the-range models will therefore work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model, so PVM9005SJSS will work great as a replacement! Please note that you should use the mounting bracket and hardware that come with the new microwave, rather than using an old bracket and hardware. -Sarah@GEAppliances

- Answer Yes, we can confirm that we still currently manufacture the wall oven model JTS5000SVSS and they can be purchased on the Best Buy website. Model PVM9005SJSS is an over-the-range microwave and is designed to be installed over a range or under a cabinet. It cannot be installed into a cabinet cutout. - Answer The PVM9005SJSS can be vented out the back or out the top for external venting. The specific details of which can be found in the online Installation Instructions. For satisfactory air movement, the total duct length of 3 1/4" x 10" rectangular or 6"diameter round duct work should not not exceed 140 equivalent feet.

- Answer No, we do not offer self-closing doors on our microwaves. If you find that your microwave door closes loudly or is harder to close than your previous model, the difference in the door noise is due to a firmer spring in the door latch; this is a normal condition for the microwave. You can lift up on the latch to feel the tension.

QuestionI have an old Advantium 120 for 18 years. It has worked great for us. However the plastic grill is basically falling apart. It is vented outside. Would thi unit fit in the same spot without having to mess around with changing the ducting.

Please know that the microwave you selected will fit in your space and work well for you without having to change the ducting, however it is just a microwave. The 120 Advantium is model number PSA9120SPSS. Note: The Advantium oven uses breakthrough Speedcook technology to harness the power of light. The Advantium oven cooks the outside of foods much like conventional radiant heat, while also penetrating the surface so the inside cooks simultaneously. The outside of the food is cooked like a conventional oven, with radiant heat produced by halogen bulbs above and below the food. This halogen-produced heat receives a boost of microwave energy to brown and cook foods evenly and fast, while retaining their natural moisture.

- Answer Hey there, We can definitely understand your concern about the microwave vent fan. All over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components as well as help the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. "Too hot" means the temperature around the control panel is above 150 degrees Fahrenheit. The fan will shut off when the control surface is less than 150 degrees Fahrenheit. If this is not the case and your vent is not shutting off at all, we recommend calling for service. - Answer Hi, We replaced our microwave and was surprised to learn that GE Profile microwaves were not standard size and had the same issue. We went to hardware store and purchased pine wood trim and painted it stainless steel color and glued it to the wall. You can't even tell its separate! Good luck!

- Answer Hey there, This is a great question to ask. The product height for the PVM microwave is 16-7/16", while the cutout height is 16-1/2". The cutout height for the PVM microwave is 1/4" greater than your JVM model, however, it will still fit with no issues. If you have any additional questions, we're always here to help.
