Yes, you will have to purchase a new trim kit. We purchased this GE microwave to replace the exact same GE microwave Model that was installed in 2015. The old trim kit did not fit this current GE model. If you go to the GE website, it will tell you what matches it. It should also tell you on the Best Buy site as well (underneath the microwave).
