“Just unpacked countertop model and the door does not open very easily? The door opener button is very hard to push as well. Any suggestions?”

Hi Suddz61 - Thanks for choosing GE! It is best to open the door by pressing the center of door latch release. When pressing in areas off center and further from center, the door latch is more difficult to operate. This is normal operation for the microwave. The door has a firm spring in the door latch. If you are unable to open by pressing in the center of the latch, a service technician may be required for diagnosis.
