You have to go with the trim kit the manufacture tells us to use but... The trim kit that went with out new GE profile was a bit (1/8") to small. I first thought the opening was not level etc. Then we discovered that the door of the micro when open noticeably rubs the left side of the trim kit. The only way to solve the rubbing was to cut out the plastic. You don't see it behind the stainless so it works. It as hair raising cutting out a $200 piece of plastic on the back side of the trim kit knowing I was damaging it and could not get a refund but there was no other option other than building a wood frame... Good like hope your frame fits the microwave and the space provided.

A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. PEB7727SLSS is compatible with GE® Optional 27" Built-In Trim Kit JX7227SLSS and GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SLSS. We suggest to view the Quick Specs for details including cabinet cutout dimensions: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=PEB7227SL_BL_R2_17.pdf - Thanks for continuing to make GE Appliances a part of your home!
