Hello - This model uses the RPWFE water filter and should automatically reset the water filter indicator light. The RPWFE water filter uses radio frequency identification (RFID) to detect leaks and monitor the filter status. Please make sure the filter is installed correctly, that you're using a genuine GE Appliances RPWFE filter, and that there are no leaks using the instructions in the "Water Filter Cartridge - RPWFE" section on pg. 17 of the Owner's Manual. If this doesn't prove helpful, we recommend scheduling a service appointment for one of our qualified technicians to assess your unit. You can schedule an appointment by calling us at: 1-800-432-2737. Kind regards. -Don@GEAppliances
