• A:Answer Hi, Great question! We thank you for your interest and we'd be happy to provide you with an answer. We Do not recommend using any steel wool pads to clean a stainless steel cooktop as it could cause scratches. To clean the stainless steel surface, use warm sudsy water or a stainless steel cleaner or polish. Always wipe the surface in the direction of the grain. If you're having issues with rust, small blemishes or tarnish we recommend using cleaners with oxalic acid. If you have any further questions let us know. Have a great day! -Sylvia@GEA

Q: Questionwe currently have a 36 " GE gas cooktop. I believe the number is JGP975. It has white glass under/around burners, and glass has broken. Are the dimensions for installation of new GE Profile PGP7036SLSS Cooktop the same?

Q: QuestionAre there other knob color options? Such as the gold or copper knobs like the Cafe line? The Cafe version of this is unavailable on BBY's site, but other nearly identical GE cooktops are, but would want gold hardware.

• A:Answer Hello Felix - We appreciate your interest in this cooktop and will be happy to help. The unit is capable of converting to run on liquid propane and even comes with the LP conversion kit. The power required is 120 volts and we do not recommend modifying the appliance to run on a different power source. Q: QuestionCan you explain to me what material the knobs on the profile 36” built in stainless gas cooktop is made from. What does electroplated & weighted plastic to look like metal mean. To clarify are all knobs on every one of the built in cooktops the same.

• A:Answer Hi Greeneyes! Good question! We'd like to assist as best as possible. This cooktop's knobs are made of weighted plastic, so that they have a heftier feel to them, and have a Stainless Steel appearance to match the rest of the finish on the cooktop. They are made of this plastic so they do not conduct as much heat as a metal knob. Some of our cooking products in our Café line have knobs that are made out of die cast metal but this would need to be double checked in that particular model's specifications.
