• The only difference I know of is original Opal has Bluetooth connectivity where as the Opal 2.0 has WiFi connectivity instead.

• The 2.0 is the next generation. I read that the first gen had issues and to stick with the 2.0. I've had it for a few weeks, solid unit so far.
