Same thing happens for me in the morning with the melted and no new ice. You have to break it up and then it goes again. It is like something happens with the sensor and sitting idle? I started a schedule & have it turn off at midnight and back on at 4 am so I wake up to fresh Ice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It only makes noise while it's in the process of making ice. Once the scheduled run time is over or when the tray is full it stops running/making noise. We have our schedule set to only run for a couple hours in the AM (before we wake up), and then from a couple hours before we get off work through about an hour before our typical bed time. (And since we're home on the weekends, we don't have that gap in the middle of the day. It's just on from 2 hours before wake until 1 hour before bed). The only time it comes on is at the start of the schedule or when the tray isn't full. If it melts down or if we open it and remove some & close it back, then it will kick on. If yours is on (power light is lit) and the tray is melted down in the AM without the machine making more ice to keep it full, it sounds like an issue. Make sure the tank is full, and perhaps play with the schedule to make sure it's doing it's job only when you need it.
