It’s does store the ice but if I don’t use it, it would melt and replenish
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It’s not a freezer. That would require a much bigger size. It makes ice and it’s insulated but gradually it will melt back into the reservoir only to become ice again. This melting is far slower than the ice production… ice piles up to a point that it reaches the censor then the ice making stops… slowly it melts and ice making starts back up. You will have a full bin of ice always if you keep it on. Just be sure to have enough water in it. Mine hasn’t a side tank… some do. I think you can buy side tanks separately as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This unit does not store ice, as the ice bin is not refrigerated and will not keep ice if the unit is turned off. As ice melts, the water is then recirculated back into the reservoir to make new ice. As long as the unit is powered on and has water, it will continue to make fresh ice.
