It seems like it can using this UNICOUPLE WASHER HOSE ASM - WH41X36697 that connects to the sink. Source is from GE website

Hi - While we designed this model with space-saving solutions and flexible installation in mind, the UltraFast combo is not a portable appliance and needs to be installed as a stationary unit. If you do not have a standpipe and water connections, you can use the optional sink unicoupler hook-up, part WH41X36697, to connect the unit to a laundry tub. Unfortunately, I am unable to answer this specific question.  The technicians completely installed this combo.  I’m curious for an answer now.
