Hinge is on the left side.  The pedestal may be short because the unit weighs 300 pounds.

Hi - We appreciate your interest in our amazing Profile UltraFast Combo washer dryer unit. The door is hinged on the left and is not reversible. We offer a 7" riser that can be used with this unit. With the riser, the unit will be approximately 53 7/10" high. This places the bottom of the wash basket approximately 22" off the floor.
