Hello. Thanks for checking with us! The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned or put in the dishwasher. The charcoal filter should be replaced every 6 months or if it is noticeably dirty or discolored. We hope this helps, and should you have any additional questions, please reach out to us!- Kianna@GEA
