“It states these have a 250 lb weight capacity. The GE washer is 246 lbs! Does this mean I can only wash up to 4 lbs of clothes (including the water) per wash before the pedastal could start having issues?”

The pedestal storage drawer has a weight limit of 25 Lbs. and functions best with a distributed loading approach – i.e. items placed across multiple points in the drawer and not all positioned in the drawer center. If this pedestal is listed as an approved accessory for the washer you have interest in, you need not worry about the weight of the washer and it's contents. -Vikki@GEAppliances
