When you have this on can you see your background? null

When you have the headset on you can't see what's going on around you. All you can see is what you're looking at through the headset.

No you can't see... so stay put...

It depends on what app you are on. Most of the apps are movie format. Some however use your camera as well., allowing you to see your own background.

There is a setting to see thru, but you cannot watch anything when this feature is active.

I assume you mean can you see your real world environment. There is an option while you're wearing it to turn on your phone's rear camera and see what's actually in front of you. You can do this at any time while you are exploring pictures, video, and games by holding down the back button to access the settings menu. This will pause any game or experience.

If you remove the protective snap on cover from.the front you can activate the rear camera which is facing out when your phone is installed. When you are actually viewing something in VR then you can't see anything but the VR display.

Thank you for reaching out with your question! Normally once a device is placed into a Gear VR and they have a solid connection together a special menu is pulled up in the device.
