• It comes with a Type C charging port, but they have included the adaptor for micro usb charging so you can use any Samsung charger for it.

• You do not need a charger because you are using your device as the activator. There is actually no battery required for the Gear VR because everything is activating your device, and not the actual headset. I was confused about that too, but once you plug your phone in, everything fires right up.
