Does thus come with office and word load on it null

The short answer is **no**, a refurbished M2 MacBook Air from Best Buy does not come pre-loaded with Microsoft Office or Word. Macs do not come with Microsoft software built-in, and Best Buy's refurbishment process simply wipes the machine back to its native Apple factory settings. If you absolutely need the official Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint apps, you will have to buy a license or sign into an existing Microsoft 365 subscription to download them from the Mac App Store. However, Apple gives you a fantastic suite of native, free productivity apps right out of the box that serve as direct equivalents to Office. --- ## Apple's Free Office Alternatives Every Mac comes pre-installed with Apple's iWork suite. These apps easily open, edit, and export standard Microsoft Office formats (like `.docx` and `.xlsx`). | Microsoft App | Apple Equivalent | Best For | | --- | --- | --- | | **Microsoft Word** | **Pages** | Writing documents, essays, and layouts. It's much cleaner than Word and handles media/graphics beautifully. | | **Microsoft Excel** | **Numbers** | Creating spreadsheets. While Excel is more powerful for heavy engineering or deep financial data, Numbers is highly visual and great for regular budgeting, charts, and tracking. | | **Microsoft PowerPoint** | **Keynote** | Building presentations. Many professionals actually prefer Keynote over PowerPoint because its cinematic transitions and animations look incredibly sleek. | ### Can you still work with Office users? Yes. If someone emails you a Word document (`.docx`), you can simply double-click it, and **Pages** will open it right up. When you are done editing, you just go to **File > Export To > Word**, and it will save it right back into a standard Microsoft format so they can read it on their PC without a hitch. ### Other Free Options If you try Apple's apps and still prefer the familiar Microsoft layout, you don't necessarily have to pay. You can use **Microsoft Office Web Apps** completely free in the Safari web browser by logging into a free Outlook/Hotmail account at Office.com. Alternatively, **Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides** run perfectly on the M2 Mac and cost nothing. The M2 chip handles all of these options seamlessly, so you'll have no shortage of ways to get your work done!
