“I want to use this for productivity only (no gaming) on a 5120x1440 60Hz display. Will it work at that resolution via HDMI? I also want to drive a VGA output, but I assume I can use a DVI-VGA converter for that -- the bigger question is the 5120x1440”

I would say no. It can drive a 4K display but only at 30hz. If I lower to 2k, it will run at 60hz. This is using the hdmi port though and it’s an older standard. In some tasks, an intel integrated gpu in a 10700 is faster.
