I used to do something similar with my music. I've moved all my music to my Plex (https://plex.tv/) setup and use either the desktop app or the mobile app to steam my music to my Chromecast Audio.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't believe any of these programs natively supports Chromecast Audio. However, if you install BubbleUPnP Server on your JRiver Media Center computer, then Chromecast Audio devices should appear as UPnP/DLNA zones in JRMC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.VLC is adding beta Chromecast support, but the functionality may be slightly limited until it's an official release. Believe me, I am waiting on that myself.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can. 1.) Use Chrome. 2.) Install the Google Cast Extension. 3.) Install another Extension like the Cloud FLAC player. 4.) Select your tunes and while it's playing, "cast" it to your Chromecast audio. It's not the prettiest, but it works -- I just ran through it myself just now.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Upload your songs to Google at no charge. Then use Chrome and Google Play Music to cast your audio.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I haven't gotten these players to cast. However you can download the Free Google Music app and upload to Google Music up to 50,000 songs for free. Then you can use the web based app to cast from a browser or android or iphone to the Chromecast. PLUS, you have a complete backup of your library in the cloud available to you anywhere you are. It's pretty cool. https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/1075570?hl=en Describes the free manager. I've been using it for years. All you need is a google account.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I know, thus far, you can't
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I cast from my desktop using the google music manager on my pc. I cast both mp3 and flac files and they sound great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can "mirror" any audio directly from your laptop/desktop. I'm on a Mac so I don't use those platforms. But if Apple works, which is at war with Google, I should think it would work with a PC. Google community can give you specifics on your setup. https://support.google.com/chromecast/?hl=en#topic=6279362
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Simple answer, no. There is no simple way to cast from your desktop to your chromecast...... However there is a more complicated answer. Though I don't know how there is usually some type of way to finagle things to make it happen. However it would require time and effort to get such a configuration working. If you absolutely must be able to stream your desktop audio but do not want to make your own setup just find an alternative option. Like a Bluetooth receiver or something.
