I did it by also having a $20 portable wireless pocket router and yes it worked with my android phone...

Yes: The alternate method is, you can create a wifi hotspot from your android phone or laptop and cast your local data over to chromecast.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey Hotel guy, as long as the TV in your room has a HDMI port & you have your laptop or other device that uses Google Chrome then your in business, it basically simulcasts whats playing on your browser to the TV. Happy Watching or listening.
