Yes it can! You can do this by installing the Google cast extension to your Chromecast web browser on the computer you would like to use this on. There's a feature that let's you cast your entire computer screen to the Chromecast. This feature is still in BETA (trial/test) mode so you may run into some bugs and expect some lag. I was using this feature the other day to share a Powerpoint presentation.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can cast to the TV using the chrome browser extension. That may or may not work for the whole screen, I do not recall. You could get a video card that supports wireless HDMI that would work as well, but they are expensive. If you do not need wireless a HDMI cable to the TV is the cheapest option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Intel's Wireless Display technology, or WiDi, is built into many Window's based systems the past few years. Your TV becomes another external display for whatever you want to show. You'll need a WiDi adapter for your TV. Netgear and Actiontec are a few brands.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, google "plex media server chromecast". There are several articles on the Web explaining how to do it. There are some limitations such as which types of media files can be played and video is limited to 720p not 1080p. The Windows version of PLEX is free. And of course you need the Chrome browser installed as well.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. It is not a desktop duplicator. It will allow you to cast from the Chrome browser on your PC but not just your PC's desktop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It can only mirror the chrome browser so anything thats on your regular computer screen will not work. It also does not work with any other browsers other than chrome. I am also not sure of any devices that will show everything on your computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In order for the Chromecast to "cast" your PC to your TV, it must be used with an app or browser that can specifically work with the Chromecast. So no, you cannot see on TV whatever you're doing on your PC, unless you're using the Google Chrome browser. That works quite well. Otherwise you'll need to plug your PC directly into your TV or stereo receiver via HDMI or VGA cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes/No, you can cast just about anything if you can open it in a chrome browser. If you are using OneDrive and navigating in Word/Excel through a Chrome Browser you can put it on your TV. I know they are working on extensions for other browsers but for me if it doesn't work in Chrome than I am probably not going to use is it. Hope that helps...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that is to my estimation, its main function.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, not that I've found.
