Your Phone is NOT the only way to use it. Talk to google Home or Mini or cast from your Laptop or Chromebook. I tell my Google mini's what I want on the TV all the time. I use it with my stereo to play videos of Artists I like from You tube, Like Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Maroon 5, Madonna, etc.

I cast my laptop on the TV all the time when giving classes by using Google Chrome and selecting cast and put display as my choice. I reduce Chrome but keep it open to cast to TV.
