It will if after you connect it to your mobile phone via bluetooth. I answer/take calls from my fitbit sense 2, able to read text messages from it too! The latest fitbit software updates added the call’s microphone/speaker support which I really appreciate! Now I can talk via my watch conveniently, pretty clear audio! I believe quick text reply’s supported but I prefer doing that on my phone…

No. It is a Bluetooth only device. It cannot be used without a phone.

I'm not particularly sure if these are stand alone with phone numbers and providers thus they take on the number of the phone it is paired with. Think of if like what a Bluetooth earpiece can do when paired w/your but it's on your watch so it's a speaker feature rather than in ear.
