“I plan to use the new Nest Camera Battery on wired power 24/7 (for streaming). The built-in battery will eventually go bad (as all batteries do). Will the camera still operate on wired power with a bad battery or will the battery need to be replaced?”

• Nest Cam (battery) comes with a built-in rechargeable battery and is not replaceable. You can keep it hardwire, but we recommend contacting our support team if you experience any power or battery related issues by visiting our help page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

• The battery will not be used, it will be a reserve, the main power source will be the wired option, which will also be charging the battery. Instead of seeing a battery percentage, you will have an “infinite” sign letting you know that the camera is hardwired on.
