“How long of segments or clips does the system record once motion is suspected? I know the Arlo generally only does 10seconds?”

it's not motion detection so it records 24/7 with audio. you can go back to look at the recording and make videos, I would say about 2 min each is good, if it's too big, you can't share it since it takes so many megabits, unless you have the capability to send large files.
