- Answer Hey there, tomg! Thanks for your interest. You can choose what triggers your lights to turn on. Your 3 options are Motion, Live viewing, or Camera events. It doesn't have an alarm feature, but with two-way talk, you can speak through the camera from anywhere. Also, you can turn on the lights remotely to deter any unwanted persons or animals, whether you're home or not. And ask Google to turn on the lights and show you the video feed using just your voice with a Google Assistant-enabled device like a Nest speaker or display. - Answer I recently purchased so don't know life of lights. I keep them on motion setting so they don't stay on unnecessarily. I never had nest so I purchased Nest aware.

- Answer No you can't. Google did away with the best Nest camera features after they bought them out. If I knew what I know now I would not have bought any of the "google nest" products.

- Answer Not sure about how big of an area I have it shinning on but it is big I have mine on a switch but if you turn it off it turns camera and lights off but why would you it can be programed with the google home app to do all sorts of stuff

- Answer It doesn’t work with the Nest app. The Google app notification are pretty responsive. It’s easy to set up but not nearly as cool as the Nest app. The Google app shows all your cameras but you have to click on them to actually see through them. Ex: bedroom 1, downstairs, front door. Then you click on it to see video. Unlike the Nest app where you open the app and can see all the camera videos without clicking on one.

- Answer Correct, you can still use the Nest app but not for this flood light. Sucks I know. You can only see the flood light through the Google app which is not nearly as cool.

- Answer No. This floodlight will trigger on movement. There are settings to adjust the sens of the trigger event.

- Answer I'm hoping the same but for now all there is are promises of this being a future feature. Google also has spoken as if in the meantime they planned on adding this camera to the Nest app for that feature.

- Answer Yes. During the day the light does come on but the camera still alerts you when there is motion. At dusk the light will come on
