That shouldn’t be a issue, my sensors aren’t flush together. During setup they have you test the connection and they need to be within a couple inches of each other.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, they have to be parallel to each other and you need to align the magnet with the bottom of Nest Detect, not the top. The Nest app will help you practice the maximum distance you can have between Nest Detect and the magnet before mounting — Nest Detect will glow green if it is placed close enough to the magnet.
