Does this have to be hard wired or can it be wireless null

It needs to be hardwired for power. Which if you are replacing a previous doorbell you will most likely have. It connects to your network wirelessly though.

Power has to be hard wired video signals wireless.

The signal is wireless but you need dc power either using existing door bell wire or using 24v power plug. My existing door bell do not have enough power for the video so I use a 24 v power supply.

The doorbell camera has to be hard wired where your existing doorbell is at.
