Yes you must have an existing low powered doorbell switch and chime or use an optional power supply offered from Google.

Please try again later.You will need electric to the doorbell itself but as far as the bell in your home Nest includes a bell adapter that you connect to your in house bell. If you have electric to your outside push button bell then you should have electric to inside ring for the doorbell. If so just connect the included receiver and you all set.
