It's use will be greatly limited without wifi. I'm not 100% sure it would even work. I would check on Nest's website before purchasing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No you don't, it works just fine without it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I believe it can still do some of the learning functions and so forth but it can't update its firmware or be accessible from apps without it. I'd say its less effective but possibly still worth it. For what its worth you can do a fair number of things without Wi-Fi since they have to account for the idea of home builders installing these without having Internet around.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would go with a cheaper thermostat if you don't have internet. The price is on the higher end for this product because of the Wi-Fi feature. It's what allows you to control the thermostat from anywhere using your phone and in turn, saving you money. Maybe go with the 2nd Generation NEST, saving you $50. It will still "learn" your routine, even without internet
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Technically you don't, but you get to use more features if you have wifi.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it is not. The wifi is what will enable you to control it from anywhere. It would learn your patterns based on when you were home or away and save you energy, but you could easily program a different thermostat that would be cheaper. I would suggest getting wifi for your home though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes because it uses motion to adjust temperature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you need wifi in order for this to work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not really, it gets weather data via wireless to accommodate your house's temperature for the best efficiency
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.not worthless but you lose the ability to check/change temp when away from the home.
