It’s a “learning” thermostat so if comfortable simply adjust manually by turning dial or via app and it will turn off the heating/cooling function until schedule changes or you change it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't know why you would shut it off. When it reaches temperature the furnace or AC will stop. I wouldn't know why you would want to turn your thermostat on and off all the time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes you can turn it off. You can have it auto select heat and cool as well depending if you have a cool temp in the morning but it warms up significantly later in the day. It’s all in the settings either on the phone or actual device.

Please try again later.yes you can but is better if you turn it to Eco mode which is a way they have to stay always( you can set the minimum and the max range) you can turn it off by many ways , on your phone on the thermostat and if you hook it up with a google home you can just ask google to do it so by saying "Ok, Google turn the nest thermostat off" or just turn it to Eco mode is more safe that way you know the temp wont go lower then you want it to... I SET MY eCO MODE 55-75...
